In hot melt adhesives, the synthetic PE wax and Fischer-Tropsch wax are both used. For Fischer-Tropsch wax is a saturated linear paraffin molecular structure with a high melting point and high hardness, furthermore, FT wax has a narrow melting range and good weather resistance. Therefore, it is more widely used in applications requiring good weather resistance, high temperature, and fast solidification.
At the low application temperature, the adhesives should be flexible to prevent the adhesive breakage. Also, quick setting adhesives are required by today's high-speed machinery.
KH FT wax 80 is the medium-melt Fischer-Tropsch synthetic wax. It is specially designed to meet the above two requirements by adhesives producers. It has narrow melt range and the high onset of melt, which can balance strength and flexibility, performing excellently in hot melt adhesives:
