Paraffin wax powder, alias: solid paraffin, mineral wax, microcrystalline wax. Composition: a mixture of paraffinic hydrocarbons. Uses: coating agent, defoamer, gum base, packaging wax.
Because of its high oil content, crude scale wax is mainly used to make matches, fiberboard, awning canvas, etc. When polyolefin additives are added to paraffin wax, its melting point increases adhesion and flexibility increase. It is widely used in the production of moisture-proof and waterproof packaging paper, cardboard, surface coating of some textiles and candles.
Fully refined paraffin wax and semi-refined paraffin wax are widely used. They are mainly used as ingredients and packaging materials for food, oral medicine and certain commodities (such as wax paper, crayons, candles, carbon paper), coating materials for baking containers, preservation of fruits, insulation of electrical components, improvement of ageing resistance and flexibility of rubber. It can also be used for oxidation to produce fatty acids.
Physicochemical properties: colourless or white waxy substance, actually odourless, tasteless, greasy, hard at room temperature. The melting point varies according to the manufacturing method. The refined microcrystalline paraffin is 48-93 degrees. It is flammable, insoluble in water and soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons.
It is stable and generally does not reflect with a strong acid, strong base, oxidant and reductant. It can turn yellow gradually under ultraviolet irradiation.
Paraffin wax powder is widely used. The wax paper with good waterproof performance can be made by immersing the paper in paraffin, which can be used in food, medicine and another packaging, metal rust prevention and printing industry; after paraffin is added into cotton yarn, it can make the textile soft, smooth and elastic; paraffin can also be made into detergent, emulsifier, dispersant, plasticizer, lubricating grease, etc.
Paraffin wax powder mesh number: melt the stone wax and spray granulation. However, the particle size of the paraffin powder is not necessarily between 100 and 200 mesh. If this particle size is necessary, the granulated material can be graded.
