Application of Polyethylene Wax in Masterbatch, Plastic Coloring, And Paraffin Wax

Application of Polyethylene Wax in Masterbatch

The plastics processing industry requires a large amount of color powder. Due to the difficulty of dispersing color powder in the resin matrix, color powder is generally first prepared into masterbatch with high concentration of color powder and resin. Polyethylene wax has good compatibility with color pigments, so it can easily wet the pigments and penetrate into the internal pores of pigment aggregates. It weakens the cohesion force, making the pigment aggregates easier to break under the action of external shearing force. The newly generated particles can also be quickly wetted and protected. It can be used as a dispersant and filler for masterbatch of various thermoplastic resins, and a lubricant for the degradation of masterbatch.

Polyethylene wax can also give the pigment particles the same charge on the surface. Based on the principle of same-sex repulsion, the particles will not attract or aggregate with each other, thus achieving uniform dispersion of the pigment.

In addition, polyethylene wax can also lower the viscosity of the system and improve its flowability. Therefore, adding polyethylene wax during the production of masterbatch can improve production efficiency, increase output, and stabilize dispersion effects.

Application of Polyethylene Wax in Plastic Coloring

Polyethylene wax can be used as a dispersant for plastic coloring. The degree of pigment dispersion has a great influence on the quality of dyed products, so the pigment needs to be mixed and pre-dispersed in a dispersant before being mixed into the plastic for coloring.

Polyethylene wax, as a dispersant, has good compatibility and heat resistance with plastics. It can be easily mixed with pigments and easily crushed without affecting the color of the pigments or the final product. The addition of polyethylene wax can make the surface of pigment particles charged. Based on the principle of same-sex repulsion, the particles will not attract or aggregate with each other, thus achieving stabilization of the pigment.

Application of Polyethylene Wax in Paraffin Wax

Polyethylene wax can be used as a modifier for paraffin wax. It has good compatibility with paraffin wax and microcrystalline wax, and can improve the melting point, water resistance, moisture permeability, and hardness of paraffin wax. Moreover, due to its good electrical properties, it can also be used as an insulating wax modifier for electrical products such as capacitors and transformers.
